The Joys of Recard Booking

For those of you that haven't ever been in 4-H, I feel really bad for you. It is sooooo fun (especially if Tammy Myers is your leader. She is amazing.) We have so much fun like last year when my amazing mother wrote an award wining skit for the 4-H skit and talent contest and we got to go to Fallon to perform it or when we go swimming every year after we have cleaned the fair grounds all morning. We have a lot of fun...except every year in October when we have to start our record books!
A record book is a binder full of pictures, project summaries and LOTS and LOTS and LOTs of paper work!!! Clarissa and I decided to start our record books early--September 30th, early huh? So since we decided to make this heroic decision, all of yesterday afternoon I spent my time filling in paper work. Sounds fun. I had the time of my life (not really). I also wrote 3 project summaries. Here is my Fashion revue project summary:

Fashion Revue Project Summary
This was my second year in fashion revue. I had fun and learned a lot. This year in fashion revue my goal was to be in the recycled section of fashion revue. I also wanted to sew something for the fashion revue. I went to the fashion revue workshop and learned how to model my outfit, how to pick out outfits that I would wear often, and made a pin cushion.
For the recycled category, I made a purse and a skirt out of 2 paire of jeans that had holes, and I purchased a t-shirt at the thrift store that I embroidered a flower on. For the constructed category I made a pink polka-dotted top and a matching head scarf.
I had a great time in fashion revue this year and I’m excited to do it next year!
Great, right? (I hope so) I had to do 3 of these plus 4 pages of paper work. I did the 1st page for each category. I'm making progress, kind of.
This may seem like a lot but we learned from last year. Last year I had 6 projects! and I remember staying up late working with my awesome, faithful mom while Clarissa was at mutual.
Anyway, even though record books are a pain (I'm convinced I've convinced you by now), it is so worth it! I am so glad I'm in 4-H.

  1. Your record book looks wonderful. You've done so many creative things for a girl so young. Watch out world when there are Johnson girls on the loose I say!
