Math

Ever since I started doing math in Kindergarten I've never really liked it or more truthfully I REALLY don't like math. I never have, I'm not that good at it, and I just don't like it!

My amazing mom has done so much for me. She's tried different math books and different things. First, I did Calvert math. I don't really remember it, but then she found another curriculum that was REALLY HARD so she pulled me back in math to first grade!!! I'm glad she did though, becase it was really amazing (amazing as in I learned alot but not amazing as in I enjoyed myself doing it) and I quicly came back to my grade and I learned alot!

The worst math I've ever done was Saxon math (To all you home schooling mothers out there, NEVER put your kids through that horrible experience!) I was doing Saxon math earlier this year but my mom and I got tired of it! And my mom started me on yet another math curriculum which I'm doing now.

I'm doing a work book from Singapore math (One that I DO NOT enjoy) and an AWESOME math book called Life Of Fred. And can you believe it, I like it alot!!! It's not like a math book. It's more of a story and there's math problems that go along with the story! The whole story is about a five-year-old, 36 inch college math teacher!!! It's so funny! I love it!! And I suggest it to all you home schooling mothers out there!!!!
So if you have never liked math (like me) do Life of Fred0! I'm so thankful for my mom who teaches me school and found me a math book that I actually like!!! (Now all she has to do is get rid of my singapore math book)!!!!!!

  1. You are a great credit to your mother. I love to read your posts about how much you appreciate her. She is a spectacular mother and well deserving of praise but you, my dear, are also a spectacular daughter. Your math book sounds fun My kids hate story problems but they might like that. When I taught 3rd grade our school used Saxon math. I wasn't a big fan either.

  2. I don't like Saxon math either, but I do like a curriculum called excel. I used it during my student teaching. Also, I just want to say you need to keep working on math because you might marry someone who can't count (like your uncle Tabori did) then where would you be?
